The Malecón

At the southern tip of this beach, you will find the Malecón, a.k.a. Las Escolleras, a road strip of 1340 meters built during the administration of Don Porfirio Díaz to allow ships to enter the Pánuco River from the Gulf of Mexico. There are several huge concrete structures on its side called "las matatenas".   At the end of the road you will enjoy a beautiful scenery as well as the entrance and departure of enormous ships.
