La Barra del Tordo
A site of exquisite beauty located on the bank of the Carrizales River. The lake, river and sea join here allowing visitors to enjoy its unique scenery. Here you may enjoy the beach, fishing, boat rides along the river while you admire its beautiful and natural surroundings. On the riverbank you will find tourist camps with all the comforts for national and foreign tourists as well as for those who love to fish.
Presa Ramiro Caballero
Ramiro Caballero Dam Following Highway 80, only a few minutes from Puente Magiscatzin (Magiscatzin Bridge), you will find on the left a signal indicating the road to Ramiro Caballero Dam where you will go through 21 Km of unpaved road to reach there. There are no signals and it is recommended that after passing through the Díaz Ordaz town follow a microwave communications antennae located atop a hill at which base the dam is located.
This dam is also known as Las ¡nimas, and fishing can be done as well as hunting for white dove, ducks and geese on its surroundings. It has a total area of 10,000 has. And has a main curtain of 1.6 Km long and a height of 10 meters. There is no infrastructure inside, only a few fishermen's homes that offer boat rides.
Presa República Española o Presa El Sombrerito
This dam us located within the municipality of Aldama, in addition of being one of the most important waterworks of the State, is also an attraction for sport fishing. The entrance to this dam is located at the kilometer 78 of Federal Highway 180 Manuel Soto la Marina where there is detour to the entrance to the dam and the towns of El Vidal and Las Alazanas. Several fishing campgrounds can be found in its surroundings that offer all required services, the main species found here is the black bass.
La Mariposa
This is a beautiful place that looks like an oasis since it is surrounded by enormous tree bunks and exuberant vegetation. The rooms are similar to rustic cabins of palm made roofs, having refrigerated air conditioning and all other facilities. You will find help for shelter, ramps, counseling and information and help to prepare your meals.
Presa Emilio Portes Gil
This dam that stores water from the Guayalejo River. Its main curtain is 4 Km long and can be crossed on a vehicle. Part of the dam is located inside the González Municipality and the other part inside Xicoténcatl. This dam is a paradise for the sport fishing, mainly of black bass or "lobina negra". On its surroundings we can find the fishing grounds of Las Gaviotas and Las Mariposas that offer shelter, ramps, and other supplies, where lovers of this sport can find the necessary accommodations to rest and relax after a long fishing day.
