Ocampo - Touristic Sites
Parroquia de Santa Bárbara Martir

It is located in front of the main square, built in 1756 and is considered one of the most solid works of the colonial Tamaulipas. Its construction was done from basaltic and volcanic rock from the Cerro Partido, having in its base the form of a Latin cross. It has three altars, the main at the center with a beautiful image of Santa Barbara Martyr and two on the sides.
Casa de Aguila
This is an old construction, dates back to 1840, with popular neoclassical style. It is located 50 meters from the main square.
Museo Rufino Muñíz Torres
This small museum is named in honor to the master and researcher of archeology, native of this town. It was inaugurated in 1980.There are several exhibits of beautiful archelogical artifacts found in the region as well as photographs of the main sites of interest within the municipality.

Los Cuisillos
Only 100 meters from La Alberca (a 5-minute walk) you will find the cuisillos or pyramids, archeological remains from the first settlements in the valley of Tanguanchín. It is composed of several mount sites; most of them covered by vegetation.
Misión de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad de Igollo

This mission was built in the valley of Tanguanchin in 1749, forming an important part of the history of Ocampo. Initially housed Pames and Janambres Indians, native of the region. During the independence war it was pillaged and only its wall were standing after. Today between its walls there is a cemetery.
La Alberca
This is a natural site situated in the middle of a creek, flanked by beautiful ahuehuetes trees. Under the shadow of the trees there are several concrete tables and seats and some cook out facilities, being an ideal place for a picnic. This natural site is located only half a kilometer off the mission.
